Ingredients
1 lb ground chicken (preferably dark meat)
½ cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
¼ cup shredded white cheddar cheese
¼ cup breadcrumbs (optional)
1 egg
2 garlic cloves, minced
¼ tsp onion powder
¼ tsp dried oregano
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
4 burger buns
Lettuce, tomato, pickles (optional)
Mustard or aioli (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground chicken, spinach, cheddar, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Divide mixture into 4 portions and shape into ½-inch thick patties. Press a thumbprint in the center of each.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties 5–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through (165°F internal temperature).
- Add cheddar slices in the last minute and cover to melt.
- Toast buns lightly. Assemble burgers with toppings and condiments of choice.
- Serve immediately while hot and juicy.

- Use pepper jack or mozzarella instead of cheddar for variety.
- Add herbs like parsley or chives to boost flavor.
- Make ahead and refrigerate raw patties for up to 8 hours.
