Ingredients
Whipped Hot Chocolate Base
- 1/4 cup hot chocolate mix

Instructions
- Prepare Whipped Cream Mixture: In a large cold bowl (preferably metal), combine the cold heavy whipping cream, hot chocolate mix, and powdered sugar. Using an electric mixer on high speed, beat the mixture until it thickens and develops soft peaks. You should be able to make an indent in the cream that holds its shape without collapsing.
- Heat Milk (for hot version): Warm 1 cup of milk in the microwave until hot but not boiling. For children, warm milk to a comfortable temperature. Divide the milk evenly by pouring 1/2 cup into each of two drinking glasses.
- Assemble Hot Chocolate: Transfer the whipped cream to a piping bag or a strong zip-top bag. Cut a small corner at the tip and pipe swirls of the whipped cream over the warmed milk in each glass. Garnish with mini marshmallows, chocolate bits, or your favorite toppings and serve immediately.
- For Iced Version: Instead of heating milk, fill two glasses with ice cubes then pour 1/2 cup milk into each glass. Pipe the whipped cream mixture on top as described above and add desired toppings. Enjoy chilled.
