Description

Wafflemaker Hash Browns are crispy potato waffles filled with melty cheddar and savory ham, cooked to golden perfection in a waffle iron for the ultimate breakfast or brunch treat.


Ingredients

Olive oil cooking spray, for greasing waffle iron

1 (30-ounce) bag frozen shredded hash browns, thawed

4 tbsp (1/2 stick) butter, melted

1 tsp kosher salt

1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese


Instructions

  1. Preheat waffle iron to the regular setting and spray both sides with cooking spray.
  2. Squeeze excess moisture from thawed hash browns and place in a large bowl.
  3. Pour melted butter over hash browns, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and stir to coat evenly.
  4. For each section of the waffle iron, scoop 1/2 cup seasoned hash browns.
  5. Top each portion with 2 tablespoons cheddar cheese and a sprinkling of ham.
  6. Cover with an additional 1/4 cup hash browns.
  7. Close waffle iron and cook for about 15 minutes, until crispy and golden.
  8. Repeat with remaining hash browns, cheese. Serve hot.
