Description

Turkey Bundles are a delightful and savory dish that combines tender cubed turkey with a creamy filling, all wrapped in flaky crescent dough, perfect as a main course or appetizer.

Ingredients

4 ounces cream cheese, softened

2 tablespoons 2% milk

1/2 teaspoon dill weed

1/4 teaspoon celery salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

2 cups cubed cooked turkey

1/4 cup chopped water chestnuts

1 green onion, chopped

2 tubes (one 8 ounces, one 4 ounces) refrigerated crescent rolls

2 tablespoons butter, melted

2 tablespoons seasoned bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or leave it ungreased.
  2. In a large bowl, beat together the cream cheese, milk, dill weed, celery salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Stir in the cubed turkey, water chestnuts, and chopped green onion until evenly mixed.
  4. Unroll both tubes of crescent dough and separate them into 6 rectangles. Press the perforations to seal the dough.
  5. Place 1/3 cup of the turkey mixture in the center of each dough rectangle.
  6. Bring the 4 corners of the dough together above the filling, twisting and pinching the seams to seal securely.
  7. Place the filled dough bundles onto the ungreased baking sheet.
  8. Brush the tops of the bundles with melted butter and sprinkle with seasoned bread crumbs.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the bundles are golden brown and fully cooked.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • You can add finely chopped vegetables like mushrooms or bell peppers to the filling for extra flavor.
  • Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the filling for a spicy kick.
  • Swap the cream cheese with a blend of shredded cheese like cheddar or mozzarella for a cheesy filling.
  • Experiment with different herbs like thyme, rosemary, or parsley to change the flavor profile.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in a 350°F oven for 5-7 minutes or microwave for 30-45 seconds.
