Description

These Quick Dinner Rolls are fluffy, soft, and easy to make—ready in just over an hour with minimal prep. Ideal for weeknights, holidays, or any time you want fresh, homemade bread on the table.

Ingredients

1 cup warm water (about 110 °F)

1 Tbsp active dry yeast

3 Tbsp sugar

3 Tbsp avocado oil

1 large egg

1 tsp salt

2⅓ cups all-purpose flour (plus more as needed)

2 Tbsp milk (for brushing)

2 Tbsp melted butter (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add avocado oil, egg, and salt. Mix in 2 cups of flour, using the dough hook. Gradually add remaining flour until dough pulls away from sides.
  3. Knead on low speed for 2 minutes. Cover and let rise 20–30 minutes until puffy.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch dish. Turn dough onto floured surface, divide into 15 pieces, shape into balls, and place in dish.
  5. Let rise 15–30 minutes until doubled. Brush tops with milk.
  6. Bake 12–15 minutes until golden and internal temp is 190°F.
  7. Cool 1–2 minutes and brush with melted butter. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Add herbs or garlic to butter for extra flavor.
  • Use whole wheat flour for a heartier roll.
  • Sweeten lightly for breakfast-style pull-aparts.
  • Freeze individually for future meals.
