Description
A refreshing and fruity peach lemonade made with fresh peaches, lemon juice, and a touch of sweetness, perfect for hot days or special gatherings.
Ingredients
1.16 lbs ripe peaches (about 3 large), peeled and chopped
½ cup sugar (or sweetener like honey, stevia, or erythritol)
2 cups water (for syrup)
⅓ cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
3 cups water or sparkling water (for mixing)
Optional Garnish:
Lemon slices
Peach slices
Fresh mint
Ice cubes
Instructions
- Make peach syrup: Combine chopped peaches, sugar, and 2 cups of water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
- Simmer: Reduce heat and simmer for 5–10 minutes, until peaches are soft and fragrant.
- Cool and strain: Let the mixture cool for 30 minutes, then strain through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl or pitcher to create a peach syrup.
- Juice lemons: While the syrup cools, juice the lemons and optionally zest them for extra citrus flavor.
- Mix lemonade: In a large pitcher, stir together 1 cup peach syrup, lemon juice, and 3 cups water or sparkling water.
- Taste and adjust: Stir well and taste. Add more syrup, lemon juice, or water to adjust sweetness and flavor as needed.
- Serve: Pour over ice in glasses. Garnish with peach slices, lemon wheels, and fresh mint.
Notes
- For a sparkling version, replace still water with sparkling water for a fizzy lemonade.
- Try blending all ingredients with ice for a slushy, frozen lemonade.
- Infuse the syrup with fresh herbs like basil or rosemary for a twist.
- For a spicy edge, simmer grated fresh ginger with the peaches.
