Description

A simple, creamy, and customizable homemade oat milk that’s naturally sweetened, dairy-free, and perfect for use in coffee, smoothies, cereal, or as a drink on its own.

Ingredients

1 cup organic rolled oats

3 cups freezing cold filtered water (adjust for thickness)

1 tablespoon maple syrup, date syrup, or sweetener of choice

Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Add the rolled oats, cold water, sweetener of choice, and pinch of salt to a blender.
  2. Blend for 25-30 seconds. Be careful not to over-blend, as it can cause the milk to become gummy.
  3. Strain the oat milk through a nut milk bag or cheesecloth into a clean bowl or jar. Gently squeeze the bag to extract as much liquid as possible.
  4. Pour the strained oat milk into a mason jar or airtight container and store it in the refrigerator. Shake well before each use, as oat milk separates naturally over time.
  5. Enjoy your homemade oat milk in coffee, smoothies, cereal, or simply as a drink!

Notes

  • Thicker oat milk: Use less water or blend longer for a creamier texture, perfect for coffee lattes or smoothies.
  • Sweetener options: Swap maple syrup for agave nectar, coconut sugar, or dates.
  • Flavored oat milk: Add vanilla extract, cinnamon, or cocoa powder for extra flavor.
  • Unsweetened version: Omit the sweetener for savory dishes or a no-sugar option.
