Description

Heavenly Peach Bread is a moist, flavorful treat made with fresh peaches and topped with a sweet peach glaze. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a snack, this bread is simple to make and bursting with flavor.

Ingredients

¾ cup granulated sugar

½ cup whole milk

½ cup vegetable oil

1 large egg

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

¼ teaspoon salt

2 cups fresh peaches, diced

2 cups powdered sugar

2 tablespoons melted butter

⅓ cup finely diced peaches

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

12 tablespoons heavy cream (if needed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, whole milk, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Stir until just combined—be careful not to overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the diced peaches, ensuring they’re evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it out evenly. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before turning it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. In a medium bowl, combine the powdered sugar, melted butter, diced peaches, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.
  9. If the glaze is too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons of heavy cream to reach the desired consistency.
  10. Once the bread has cooled completely, spread the glaze evenly over the top.
  11. Slice and enjoy the moist, peachy goodness with a sweet glaze that complements the bread perfectly.

Notes

  • For a spiced version, add a teaspoon of cinnamon or nutmeg to the dry ingredients.
  • For a nutty twist, add ½ cup of chopped walnuts or pecans to the batter.
  • For a vegan version, substitute the egg with a flax egg (1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed + 3 tablespoons of water) and use a plant-based milk like almond milk.
  • For a gluten-free option, swap out the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • To freeze, wrap the bread tightly in plastic wrap and foil, and thaw at room temperature when ready to serve.
