Description

A rich, comforting casserole with layers of egg noodles, creamy sour cream and cream cheese, savory ground beef in tomato sauce, and melted Cheddar on top—perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

2 cans (15 oz each) tomato sauce

1 large white onion, diced

8 oz egg noodles

1 cup sour cream

3 oz cream cheese

1 lb ground beef

½ cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (or more to taste)

1 tsp garlic salt

1 tsp salt

1 tsp white sugar


Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat (5–7 minutes), drain grease.
  2. Stir in garlic salt, salt, tomato sauce, and sugar. Simmer for 20 minutes. Cover and set aside.
  3. Boil noodles until al dente (5–6 minutes), drain and rinse with cold water.
  4. Preheat oven to 350 °F. Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
  5. Mix diced onion, sour cream, and cream cheese until smooth.
  6. Layer half the noodles, half the sour cream mix, and half the beef sauce. Repeat layers.
  7. Top with shredded Cheddar. Bake 25 minutes until bubbly and cheese is melted.
  8. Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
