Description
Crockpot Angel Chicken is a creamy, cheesy comfort dish made easy in the slow cooker—tender chicken breasts simmered in a rich Italian-seasoned sauce, served over angel hair pasta.
Ingredients
6 boneless chicken breasts
½ cup butter
1 (1‑oz) package dried Italian salad dressing mix
1 (10.5‑oz) can Campbell’s Golden Mushroom soup or cream of mushroom soup
½ cup white wine, chicken stock, or water
4 oz cream cheese with chives and onions
1 lb angel hair pasta
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in the crock pot.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Stir in Italian dressing mix, mushroom soup, and cream cheese until smooth. Add wine or broth and mix well.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken in the crock pot. Cover and cook on Low for 4–5 hours until chicken is tender.
- Cook angel hair pasta according to package directions; drain.
- Remove and shred or chunk the chicken. Return to crock pot if desired and mix with sauce.
- Serve over pasta and spoon sauce over top.
Notes
- Use cream cheese with garlic or herbs for extra flavor.
- Try chicken thighs for richer taste.
- Add peas or spinach in the last hour of cooking.
- Fettuccine, rice, or mashed potatoes also work well as a base.
- Add shredded Parmesan before serving for more cheesiness.
