Description

Crockpot Angel Chicken is a creamy, cheesy comfort dish made easy in the slow cooker—tender chicken breasts simmered in a rich Italian-seasoned sauce, served over angel hair pasta.


Ingredients

6 boneless chicken breasts

½ cup butter

1 (1‑oz) package dried Italian salad dressing mix

1 (10.5‑oz) can Campbell’s Golden Mushroom soup or cream of mushroom soup

½ cup white wine, chicken stock, or water

4 oz cream cheese with chives and onions

1 lb angel hair pasta


Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the crock pot.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Stir in Italian dressing mix, mushroom soup, and cream cheese until smooth. Add wine or broth and mix well.
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken in the crock pot. Cover and cook on Low for 4–5 hours until chicken is tender.
  4. Cook angel hair pasta according to package directions; drain.
  5. Remove and shred or chunk the chicken. Return to crock pot if desired and mix with sauce.
  6. Serve over pasta and spoon sauce over top.

Notes

  • Use cream cheese with garlic or herbs for extra flavor.
  • Try chicken thighs for richer taste.
  • Add peas or spinach in the last hour of cooking.
  • Fettuccine, rice, or mashed potatoes also work well as a base.
  • Add shredded Parmesan before serving for more cheesiness.
