Description

This dish features golden, crispy chicken thighs finished with a tangy and buttery lime sauce—an elegant and flavorful weeknight meal with just a few simple steps.


Ingredients

4 chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on)

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

23 garlic cloves, peeled and smashed

½ cup chicken broth

2 tablespoons lime juice

2 teaspoons honey (or maple syrup)

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Optional: lime wedges, fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Sprinkle both sides of the chicken thighs with salt and pepper, and let sit for 10 minutes. Pat dry thoroughly.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add vegetable oil and place chicken thighs skin-side down. Cook undisturbed for 20–25 minutes until golden and crispy.
  3. Flip and continue cooking until fully cooked. Add garlic in the last few minutes to toast. Transfer chicken to a plate.
  4. Pour off excess fat, leaving about 3 tablespoons. Add chicken broth, lime juice, and honey. Simmer on high to reduce by half.
  5. Stir in butter until the sauce becomes glossy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Return chicken to skillet or pour sauce over plated chicken. Garnish with lime wedges and herbs if desired.
