Description
Crispy Air Fryer Apple Fries are a wholesome sweet snack or dessert—tender apple wedges coated in a lightly spiced, crunchy breadcrumb crust and air-fried until golden, then dusted with sugar. Easy, delicious, and healthier than deep frying!
Ingredients
2 large apples, peeled and sliced into wedges
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup breadcrumbs
1 tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp salt
2 large eggs, beaten
1 Tbsp sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 380 °F (193 °C).
- In a bowl, combine flour, breadcrumbs, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
- Dip apple wedges into beaten eggs, then dredge in the breadcrumb mixture until evenly coated.
- Place coated wedges in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
- Air fry for 8–10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Transfer to a plate and sprinkle with sugar while warm. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Add nutmeg or cardamom to the breadcrumb mix for added spice.
- Use coconut sugar or powdered sugar for dusting instead of white sugar.
- Mix chopped nuts into breadcrumbs for a crunchy variation.
- Drizzle with honey or maple syrup before serving for extra flavor.
