Description

This classic Spinach Artichoke Dip is a creamy, cheesy appetizer perfect for parties and gatherings. Featuring tender spinach and artichoke hearts blended with cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, Parmesan, and mozzarella, it’s baked until hot and bubbly, ideal for serving with pita chips or toasted baguettes.

Ingredients

Spinach and Artichokes

  • 10 oz. package frozen spinach (thawed, drained, and chopped)
  • 14 oz. jar artichoke hearts (drained and chopped)

Cheese and Dairy

  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the dip.
  2. Mix the ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the thawed and chopped spinach, chopped artichoke hearts, cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, grated Parmesan, and shredded mozzarella. Stir thoroughly until all components are evenly blended into a creamy mixture.
  3. Transfer to baking dish: Spoon the blended mixture into a cast iron skillet or an oven-safe baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  4. Bake the dip: Place the skillet or dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly on top.
  5. Serve: Remove from the oven and serve warm with pita chips or toasted baguette slices for dipping.

Notes

  • Make sure to thoroughly drain the spinach and artichokes to avoid a watery dip.
  • You can substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt for a healthier option.
  • For extra flavor, add minced garlic or a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes to the dip mixture.
  • Use fresh Parmesan cheese for better taste.
  • This dip can be prepared ahead and refrigerated; bake it just before serving.
