Ingredients
1½ cups (180 g) all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
¼ cup granulated sugar (50 g)
⅛ cup packed brown sugar (25 g)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 large egg
1 tablespoon freeze-dried blueberry powder (6 g)
2–4 tablespoons blueberry jam (14–42 g)
Blue and green food coloring
1 tablespoon melted milk or dark chocolate
1 tablespoon melted white chocolate
Pink or red oil-based food coloring
Instructions
- Whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- In another bowl, combine melted butter, sugars, vanilla, and egg until smooth.
- Mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully incorporated.
- Remove 3 tablespoons dough and tint green. Add blueberry powder, jam, and blue food coloring to the rest and mix.
- Chill both doughs for 20–30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Line trays with parchment.
- Shape blue dough into footballs and attach small dough balls for feet. Form leaf clusters from green dough and place on top.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes. Cool on tray 5–10 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
- Decorate with melted chocolate for faces. Tint white chocolate with pink/red for blush and pipe on.
Notes
- Chill dough longer to prevent spreading.
- Use freeze-dried blueberry powder for natural flavor and color.
- Tinting white chocolate requires oil-based coloring to avoid seizing.
- Cool completely before decorating for best results.
