Description

Juicy grilled shrimp marinated in a bold blend of chili powder, cumin, garlic, and lemon juice. Quick to prepare and bursting with flavor, these spicy shrimp are perfect for grilling season or a light weeknight meal.

Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

3 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

2 teaspoons chili powder

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper to make the marinade.
  2. Add shrimp and toss to coat. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat grill or grill pan to medium-high and oil lightly.
  4. Thread shrimp onto skewers if desired. Grill for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  5. Remove shrimp from grill and garnish with chopped cilantro. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use lime juice for a citrusy variation.
  • Add cayenne or red pepper flakes for more heat.
  • Don’t overcook—shrimp cook quickly and stay juicier when removed promptly.
  • Serve with aioli or citrus wedges for added flavor.
