Description
Transform crumpets into a golden, cheesy garlic bread with a crispy edge using the air fryer. Topped with garlic butter, parsley, and melted cheese, these crumpet sandwiches are perfect for a savory snack or side dish.
Ingredients
150g salted butter, at room temperature
¼ cup finely chopped fresh continental parsley
4 garlic cloves, crushed
1 tsp sea salt flakes
300g packet crumpets, halved
100g (1 cup) pre-grated 3-cheese blend
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the softened butter, chopped parsley, crushed garlic, and sea salt flakes. Stir until well combined.
- Spread a generous teaspoon of garlic butter over each crumpet half.
- Sprinkle a generous pinch of the cheese blend over half of the crumpet halves.
- Arrange the remaining crumpet halves, buttered side down, to create half-moon crumpet sandwiches.
- Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F). Line the air fryer basket with foil to prevent any mess.
- Place the crumpet sandwiches, cut side down, into the air fryer basket. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top of each sandwich.
- Air fry for 8 minutes or until golden and the cheese is melted.
- Once done, brush the remaining garlic butter over the top for extra flavor.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- Cheese varieties: Use any cheese you prefer such as Parmesan, mozzarella, or blue cheese for a unique twist.
- Herb options: Experiment with herbs like thyme, rosemary, or basil for added flavor.
- Spicy kick: Add red pepper flakes to the garlic butter for some heat.
- No crumpets? Substitute crumpets with English muffins or thick bread slices.
